Do you have a sunken feeling in the pit of your stomach when you think about getting a new car? You may know it is time to break up with your old vehicle, but you just can’t find the heart to do so. You have made great memories and had some great times behind the wheel of that car. You may have even grieved and cried and felt regret at the thought of saying goodbye?
You are not alone.
At one time, your vehicle was like a stranger to you. After you got acquainted and began driving your new-found friend, you got more comfortable. You began eating and leaving crumbs, singing at the top of your lungs with no judgment. Then you shared road trips, laughter with family and friends, seasons, holidays... not to mention your car has gotten you from point A to B daily.
As humans, we can attach to inanimate objects easily and therefore many of us can understand how hard it can be to break up with your vehicle. But there comes a time when we grow apart from our vehicles. Like when we need more space for our stuff and our kids, or we have grown and want something more suitable or sophisticated. Whatever your reasoning is, breaking up with your car is hard to do.
So, the next time you wonder why you feel sad about letting go of a vehicle you possibly spent years with, just know it is human nature and someone else is out there doing the same thing!
If I can help ease the process of transitioning you into a new vehicle, don’t hesitate to call me! I am here to help!
